Lace Woven Basket - Black / White

This TMP Home item is handmade by the PENAN tribe, the aboriginal semi-nomadic tribe of Borneo Rainforest. Their goods are originally made from rattan, bamboo and native hardwood. However, these natural resources are hard to get these days as the forests that sustain them are destroyed. The Penan women, who are skilful weavers, nowadays mainly use PVC material to make these beautiful, durable and practical products. Proceeds from the sale goes back to help the tribe in educational, social and economic needs and development.
