At The Missing Piece, we aim to be a business rooted in purpose, collaborating with non-profit organisations to uplift lives and communities. With this vision in mind, we felt compelled to partner with World Vision and in particular, support their work in Dhaka, Bangladesh where through Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET), we hope to break the horrid cycle of child labour. 30 young women aged 15–18 are now undergoing training in sewing and tailoring. This initiative is designed to equip youth with practical sewing skills, empowering them to break free from child labour, and provide them the opportunity to return to school while earning supplemental income through home-based tailoring.
Upon graduation, participants will not only receive a certificate and their own sewing machine, but will also benefit from established linkages with job providers, NGOs, and community-based organisations. These partnerships will open pathways to internships, job placements, and long-term opportunities, ensuring the skills they acquire can be transformed into sustainable livelihoods.
This programme is more than just technical training — it is about restoring dignity, expanding choices, and creating lasting change for youth who deserve the chance to pursue their dreams.
To our TMP Community — thank you for making this possible. Through your support, we have been able to raise $10,000 to fund this project and to see it to completion. Thank you for enabling us to extend our mission beyond fashion, to truly touch lives and communities. Together, we continue to stitch hope and purpose into every piece, and every story.
