HOW DO YOU JUGGLE YOUR CAREER, FAMILY AND SOCIAL LIFE?
Everyday is a juggling act with no absolute balance. But I try to set clear boundaries and pause when I feel work is eating into family time. After setting up Ksisters, I have to confess that I don't really have a social life.
WHAT IN YOUR LIFE HAS BROUGHT OR GIVEN YOU THE GREATEST SATISFACTION OR FULFILMENT?
It would have to be having my two daughters. They are just fourteen months apart so the first two years were very tough for me. I always looked like one of the zombies from the walking dead. These days I can’t stop smiling to myself whenever I see them playing so well together. They are really like BFFs to each other!
LOOKING BACK, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY AND WHAT WILL YOU DO AGAIN?
When I had the girls, I was close to having postpartum depression. I felt left behind as my friends were at the peak of their career while my focus was on my kids. On looking back, I would want to be more active in asking for help and sharing about my feelings with my family, friends, and husband. I would also want to worry less about my career and cherish more of the precious moments when my kids were still little babies. Everyone has different lifestyles and life phases, and there is no right or wrong. It is all about finding your unique tempo.
WHEN THINGS GET TOUGH, HOW DO YOU KEEP YOURSELF GOING?
I always aspire to be a good role model for my kids, to have grit and to be persistent. Most importantly, to never give up easily.
HOW DO YOU KEEP YOURSELF LOOKING AND FEELING GOOD?
I try to have a day off every month that I dedicate to a self care routine, which can be a day at a spa or a salon. I always come out feeling really refreshed.
A philosophy Jungmin stands by for her business, Ksisters.
